Leadership Ripple

You are constantly being observed, whether you realize it or not.
Everything we do has a ripple effect.
Effective leaders do several things:
- They show up on time, prepared and engaged. They know human behavior is contagious, both effective and ineffective.
- They do what they say they are going to do; in the time frame agreed upon. They know habits compound themselves, both effective and ineffective.
- They make time to connect with, inspire, and coach others. They know leadership is infectious, both effective and ineffective.
- They remain a constant student of their profession. They know the routines they model get repeated, both effective and ineffective.
We are responsible for the behavior we exhibit, the leadership style we display, and the daily habits we choose to model.
Does this sound time-consuming? It is. But as a leader, the example you set is your greatest contribution.
The moment you decide that you are the one who is capable of and responsible for changing things, everything shifts–and I mean everything!
I encourage you to catch yourself being upset, frustrated, and annoyed. Catch yourself wishing something was different, whether that is a relationship, your business, or the life you desire. When this happens, ask: What can I do differently?
Effective leaders act the way they want their team to act. What example are you setting?
Like a stone tossed into a calm body of water, everything we do has a ripple effect–both effective and ineffective.
